Michael W. Rice

Michael Wayne Rice, 72 of Tipton died on August 8, 2019 at his residence.  He was born in Tipton on November 25, 1946 to Charles & Lena (McCubbins) Rice.  Mike married Gayle Rice on February 11, 1976 and she preceded him in death on December 17, 2008.

Mike had worked at Chrysler in Kokomo.  He was a graduate of Tipton High School, Class of 1965.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tipton, and the Quarter Miller’s Club.  He enjoyed going to concerts, races and all types of sports.  He especially enjoyed spending time in his pool.

Left to mourn his passing are his step-daughter, Lee Ann Goar Miller and husband Anthony Miller, Tipton; niece Harlie Wells and nephew Joshua Smith, both of Glasgow, Kentucky; one brother, Jim Rice and wife Jan of Kokomo; two sisters-in-law Becky Rice, Tipton and Elizabeth Wells, Glasgow, Kentucky.

Mike was also preceded in death by one step-son, Jack Fouch, Jr., one brother, Larry Rice and his best friend, Mike Small.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mason Higgins presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
