Missie Sottong

Missie Sottong, 53 of Tipton died on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Riverview Health in Noblesville after a short fight with cancer.  She was born in Tipton on January 27, 1966 to David & Nelda (Long) Hinds.  On February 5, 1991 she married Rick Sottong and he survives.

Missie worked at Outpatient Integrated Strategies in Carmel as an Administrative Assistant.  She was a graduate of Tipton High School, Class of 1984.  Missie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed shopping and being with friends.

Left to share her memory are her husband Rick; three children, Tyler Sottong and fiancée Kelsey Stahl, Shelbie Sottong (Steven Tragesser) and Mallorie Sottong (Jacob Overdorf), all of Tipton; two sisters, Cathy Hogan and husband Randy, Tipton and Gina Jackman and husband Greg, Elwood; two grandchildren, Samantha Sottong and Jace Sottong; two brothers, Mark Semon and wife Liz, Chicago and Mike Semon and wife Ashkea, Noblesville; her step-father, Don Semon.

Missie is also survived by a foster sister, Mary Dever, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and her dog Bailey.  She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Funeral services for Missie will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Torrey Martin presiding.  Burial will follow in Wilkens-Legg Cemetery at 400 South and 500 East in Tipton County.  Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Missie’s honor be made to the Tipton County Fair Board, 1200 S. Main Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.
