Nonia V. “Jude” Brown

Nonia V. “Jude” Brown, 98, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at her residence in Michigan. The daughter of the late Charles and Sally (Montgomery) Hughes, Nonia was born April 8, 1921 in Garrard County, Kentucky. She was united in marriage to C. Wilbur Hilligoss in 1948; he preceded her in death in 1971. She later married Lowell O. Brown in 1973; he preceded her in death in 1997. Nonia was a mother and friend to many. Her love and devotion to the Lord manifested itself in her care and concern for others.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wilma Olson of Cincinnati, and Clara Lou (Gene) Dingman of Santee, California; eighteen grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren; her brothers Ben (Bev) Hughes and Oscar (Kathy) Hughes; sister-in-law Louise Hughes; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husbands and parents, Nonia was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Jean Klaty; son John Hilligoss; siblings Price, Pete, Mary, George and Gordon.

Funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc., Bay City, Michigan. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Saturday, January 18, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Internment will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Normanda Cemetery in Tipton County, Indiana. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting with local arrangements.
