Paul G. North, 75 of Tipton died at 11:12 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton. He was born on September 27, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio to Rev. Gerald G. & Leola (Seitz) North.  On July 26, 1963 he married Marie E. “Betsy” Prickett and she survives.

Paul had worked for Garrett Machinery in Indianapolis and Welfare Finance in Kokomo.  He also worked for Hy-Line Chicks in Tipton for 11 years as the Accounting Manager and for Citizens National (PNC) Bank in Tipton as a Controller for 18 years.  Paul was the Executive Director of Mulberry Lutheran Home for three years.  He also worked for Star Bank in Tipton before finishing out the last eight years of his career at First Farmers Bank and Trust in Tipton, retiring in December of 2004.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton, where he served on the Board of Elders, Board of Directors & Trust Fund for over 30 years.  Paul also served the Indiana District, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod from 1988-2015, taking on many roles including serving on Board of Directors, Treasurer, Nominating Committee, Stewardship Board, Lutheran Church Extension Fund Committee from 1978-2017, and he served as a delegate to several church body national conventions.

Paul had an article he wrote published in Management Accounting in January of 1970.  He was a member of Tipton Kiwanis Club and BAI.  Paul was on the original Board of Directors for Meals-on-Wheels for Tipton County and was on the Board of Directors for Tipton County Housing Corporation since 1978.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betsy; a daughter, Paula Ceplecha and husband Steve, Harbor Beach, Michigan and a grandson, Elijah Ceplecha.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Levi Thomas Ceplecha and a sister, Nelda Remus.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1395 South Main Street, Tipton, with Rev. Dr. Robb Roloff presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Trust Fund or Memorial Fund at Emanuel Lutheran Church.
