Rosalie J. Wallace, 90 of Tipton died at 3:18 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at I.U. Health Tipton Hospital.  She was born on December 15, 1926 in Ambia, Indiana to Rex & Ruth (Hallock) Van Allen.  She married William D. Wallace on January 15, 1960 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 2004.

Rosalie had worked as a secretary at Boyer Insurance Agency in Kempton and had also been the organist at Kempton Christian Church.  She was a member of Fairfield Christian Church.  Rosalie was a 1945 graduate of Clarks Hill High School and graduated from Lincoln Christian College in Illinois.

Survivors include two step-sons, Dennis P. Wallace, Westfield and Rodney D. Wallace and wife Cindy, Kokomo; one brother, Rich Van Allen and wife Shirley, Clarks Hill and one sister, Rosemond Davis, California; six step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one step-daughter, Marjorie L. Wise and one step-great-great-grandson Grayson Jacob William Collins.

Rosalie’s funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Sprague presiding and burial to follow in Kempton Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

Memorial contributions in Rosalie’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46278.

  1. I’ve only known Rosalie four about four years. She had a great sense of humor and was very likeable. Everyone loved her and will miss her.

    Rosalie attended our Bible Studies while at Autumnwood Village and then at Miller’s. We all loved her so much and will miss her greatly. God bless her family.
