Sally J. Rubush, 87 of Tipton passed away at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at IU Health Tipton Hospital.  Sally was born on April 25, 1934 in Tipton blessing the lives of her parents, Ralph & Margaret (Stitt) Bath.  She married Richard Rubush on January 23, 1953 and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage before his passing on February 18, 2015.

Sally had worked for the Tipton Community Schools for 12 years, leaving there in 1977.  She then worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Sam Lauderman.  Sally was a graduate of the St. Joseph Academy in Tipton in 1952 and had been a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years.

Survivors include her three daughters, Deborah Blubaugh and husband Larry, Frankfort, Theresa Garman and husband Larry, Tipton and Kathy Leininger and husband Mark also of Tipton.  Sally also had eight grandchildren, Jeff Garman (Amanda), Bryce Garman (Kent Anderson), Melanie Weaver (Mike), Maribeth Leeson (David), Joni Pearson, Angie Leininger, Clark Leininger and Grace Boughton (Quentin); 21 great-grandchildren and one more on the way.   She was preceded in death by one brother, John R. Bath.

Sally’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in honor of Sally may be made to the building fund at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 335 Mill Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

  2. I worked with Sally at the middle/elementary school cafeteria for many years. She was always fun to work with.

  3. I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. she was such a sweet lady. the sorrow you feel is overwhelming, but she no longer is suffering and will always be in your heart. prayers for all three of you and your families.
