Alice E. Gray

Alice Elizabeth (Tebbe) Gray, age 80, of Tipton, Indiana passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, March 29, 2026. She was born on April 24, 1945 in Tipton to the late August George “Gus” & Berniece Oleine Marie (Powell) Tebbe.

Alice Graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy with the Class of 1963. She dedicated many years to various roles throughout her professional career including positions at Stokely-Van Camp, the Tipton County Assessor’s Office as a Deputy Assessor and then she worked at Top-Ag in Tipton.

She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton. Alice was also an active member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Tipton Hospital Auxiliary, where she graciously offered her time to her community and parish.

Alice will be remembered by her bubbly personality, her creativity, her peach pies, rocky road fudge and her beautiful yard filled with flowers & trees. Her family was at the center of her heart, and she took great joy in caring for and spending time with them.

The members of Alice’s survivorship include her children Robert Gray of Tipton, Troy (Amy) Gray of Tipton, and Rachele (Brian) Wright of Sharpsville; grandchildren Tanner (Jill) Gray, Keegan (Alana) Gray, Blake Hopkins and Allison Hopkins (fiance’ Riley Van Eerd); and great-grandsons Mason Gray & Boden Gray. Alice is also survived by her siblings Robert (Zonda) Tebbe, Leona (John) Stout, Lenny Tebbe and George Tebbe all of Tipton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and by her loving companion of 44 years Francis E. Letsinger.

Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her siblings Virginia Baker, Helen Matthews and Julie Plake. She was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Earl Howard Gray.

Alice’s funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Adam Mauman presiding. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton with the Rosary prayers at 3:00pm.
