Amy Lynn Stephens, 56 of Tipton, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at home. Her parents were Elijah Whitman & Dorothy Joan (Johnson) Stephens. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but loved to move to new places. Before settling in Tipton, she had lived in several places, including Fort Worth (TX), Lawrence, Martinsville, Camby, Clermont, Boston (MA), and Wanamaker.
Amy was most recently working at Takeda Pharmaceuticals as an Associate Director of Clinical Data Management. She graduated from Lawrence Central High School and attended Ball State University before joining the U.S. Army. She served from 1988 – 1990.
After leaving the Army, Amy finished her nursing degree. She started her career in Clinical Data Management at Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals in 2000. During her career, she made many life-long friends and was able to travel many places, including Italy and her home-away-from-home, India (seven times!).
She was a huge fan of Prince and enjoyed going to many different concerts, casinos and beaches. Amy was a free spirit who loved to travel. Her long list of places include Hawaii, the Carolinas, India, Rome, Vegas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Spain, France, Switzerland, Michigan and anywhere else she could find a reason to visit. Enjoying nature and its critters was a hobby of hers, along with watching sunsets and the moon. She was an animal lover and had many pets throughout her life. Her soul dog was her boxer, Dallas, who just recently passed in 2023.
Christmas was always a special time for Amy, but the absolute best part of life was spending time with her children and grandchildren!
Amy is survived by her children, Gabrielle (Mason) Parish of Tipton, Chase Stephens of Dayton, Ohio, Danielle Brandenburg (Doug Cooper) of Wanamaker, and Jennifer (Troy) Hughes of Greenwood. She is also survived by Tim Brandenburg, the father of her children of Indianapolis; two brothers, Scott Jay Stephens of Bloomfield, and Randy Lee Stephens of Monrovia; and her eight grandchildren, Logan Nicole Parish, Levi Elijah Parish, Nolan Allen Hughes, Nora Rhiannon Hughes, Ellie Grace Hughes, Corbin Dean Hughes, Delaney Rae Marie Cooper and Demi Kate Cooper. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Johnna Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Whitman Stephens and Dorothy "Dot" Stephens; one brother, Elijah Whitman Stephens, Jr.; one sister-in-law, Sharla Ann Stephens; and one granddaughter, Everly Rose Hughes.
It was Amy’s desire to be cremated. The family is planning for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 24, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Osprey Pointe Pavilion, 19777 Morse Park Lane, Noblesville. The family asks those who are celebrating to come dressed in purple or other bright colors to honor Amy's colorful life lived and love for Prince. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to assist Amy’s family at this time. Condolences for Amy’s family may be left on her obituary page at www.young-nichols.com.
