Anita Lynn Harner, age 58, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, surrounded by her family at her son’s home. Born on July 11, 1967, in Tipton to Alfred and Reba (Ragan) Howery, Anita was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother.
Anita graduated from Tipton High School in 1985 and pursued a career as a fork truck driver for several years. However, she chose to dedicate herself to her family, cherishing the time spent with them. On June 14, 2008, she married Charlie Harner, with whom she shared 16 joyful years until his passing on April 5, 2025.
Anita attended Trinity Wesleyan Church and enjoyed watching medical dramas and home improvement shows alongside her husband. She was passionate about visiting yard sales in search of treasures and took great pleasure in sewing for her family. An avid animal lover, Anita had a special bond with her dogs.
She is survived by her children, Dustin Givens and his wife Marisa of Noblesville, and Laura Givens of Clarksville, Tennessee; her mother, Reba Howery of Tipton; her siblings, Greg Howery and his wife Lisa of Tipton, Patti Canton and her husband Chris of Bristol, Indiana, and Jon Howery and his wife Beverly of Noblesville; and her beloved granddaughters, Halley and Skyler Crabtree. Anita was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Howery.
