Ann Lucille Day

Ann L. (Mattingly) Day, 91 of Tipton died at 3:11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at her residence.  She was born on August 26, 1927 in Tipton County to Lawrence I. & Catherine M. (Keyser) Mattingly.  On August 6, 1947 she married A. “Clayton” Day.

The couple enjoyed 54 years of marriage.  Clayton preceded her in death on March 12, 2002.

Ann worked in the office at Pioneer Hybrid for many years.  She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Altar Rosary Society.  She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Tipton.  Ann was an avid reader.

She is survived by seven children, Michael Day and wife Brenda of Tipton, Stephen Day of Tipton, Robert Day and wife Jayne of Tipton, Lynn Louthen and husband Ray of Tipton, David Day and wife Myra of Indianapolis, Mark Day and wife Carol of Tipton, and Jane Letsinger and husband Matt of Tipton.  Ann has twelve grandchildren, Andrew (Mandy) Day, Wes (Courtney) Day, Jonathan (Patty) Day, Chad (Morgan) Day, Scott Day (Kristen Ripberger), Troy Louthen, Casey Stiner (Brandon Case), Tarran (Zach) Helton, Erik (Karena) Day, Samantha (Patrick) O’Neal, Sarah (Andrew) Bolinger, and Thomas Letsinger (Sneha Jogi).  She also has fourteen great-grandchildren, Matisen, Kaden, Olivia, Jake, Lily, Austin, Brooklyn, Harper, Stella, Emma, Evan, Clay, Tenley, and Ryker.  Ann has two sisters, Charlene Browning of California and Margaret Rivera of Texas.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Mattingly.

Her funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5,  at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton with a public Rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m.
