Athena Nichole Heron

Athena Nichole Heron, 36 of Windfall died on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Kokomo on August 6, 1988 to Russell & Cynthia S. (Vawter) Heron.

A dedicated and compassionate individual, Athena graduated from Tipton High School Class of 2007. She found fulfillment in her work as a CNA at the Waters of Tipton, where she enjoyed helping others. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music and spending time with her family. Most of all she treasured the time she spent hanging out with her daughters.

She is survived by her children, Maria Artemis Dick, age 13 and Sophia Lynn Dick, age 10; her parents, Russell and Cynthia Heron; brother, Alec Heron and wife Jaylena of Kokomo; grandparents, Jerry Vawter of Windfall, Phil Heron and wife Martha of Tipton; the father of her children, Trevor Dick; and the many people who had a positive impact on her life. Athena was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sue Vawter. 

The family will receive friends, share stories, and celebrate her life during visitation on Friday, August 23 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.
