Carl "Dee" Stakelbeck

Carl “Dee” Stakelbeck, age 80, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away on May 7, 2025, at The Waters of Tipton. He was born on June 5, 1944, in Kokomo, Indiana, to Carl D. and Blanche (Franks) Stakelbeck. On December 7, 1974, he married Grace E. “Beth” (Law).

Dee graduated from Prairie High School in 1962. He dedicated 25 years of his career as a foreman at Continental Steel in Kokomo until its closure. He then worked at Curtis Dyna Fog in Westfield, and Steel Parts Corporation in Tipton before he retired in 2016.

A resident of Ekin, Indiana for 40 years before moving to Tipton, Dee was actively involved in his community as a member of East Union Christian Church in Atlanta, Indiana. He cherished time spent with family and friends, and his passion for fishing often led him on various trips to Minnesota.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Beth Stakelbeck of Tipton, Dee is survived by his children: Lisa Pierce of Sharpsville, Debbie Small and husband Gino of Atlanta, Brian Stakelbeck of Kempton, Mindy Newton and husband Charlie of Lafayette, and Mike Stakelbeck and wife Kimberly of Noblesville. He also leaves behind a sister, Linda Knoderer and husband Roc of Carmel.

Dee was a proud grandfather to Josh Small, Keagan Mendenhall, Ryan Pierce, Kristen Pierce, Kendra Stakelbeck, Ellary Small, Shelby Reese, Brock Stakelbeck, Jordan Newton, and Hailey Stakelbeck.

He was also a loving great-grandfather to Grace Pierce, Lily Pierce, Levi Small, Isaac Small, Henry Pyke-Pierce, River Mendenhall, Wyatt Mendenhall, Bentlee Pyke-Pierce, Felix Reese, Maddox Reese, and Baby Reese.

A private family service will be held. Afterwards, he will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery.
