Carolyn M. Houston

Carolyn M. Houston, 79 of Alamo, Texas died on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, Houston, Texas. She was born October 30, 1934 in Fort Wayne to Maynard & Norma (Elliot) Diehlman. On July 15, 1957 she married Robert Houston and he survives.

Carolyn lived in Tipton from 1957 to the early 1960’s, in Rossville from 1973 – 1989, then in her RV’s traveling for 19 years until settling in Alamo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, McAllen, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; three daughters, Linda Houston, Richmond, Texas, Lisa Evans and husband Mark, Apex, North Carolina, Maria Beck and husband Steve, Sugar Land, Texas; four grandchildren, Michelle, David, and Laura Evans, Megan (Beck) Garland; and a sister, Winona Adams. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Diehlman.

Carolyn’s funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
