Daniel Lane Sprinkle

Daniel Lane Sprinkle, 73 of Tipton died Sunday, January 18, 2026 at I.U. Health -Tipton Hospital.  He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on May 24, 1952 to John Lane and Clara Marjorie (Dunn) Sprinkle.  He married Rosemary McNew on April 17, 1982 and she survives.

Dan was very good with his hands.  His ability to fix things led him to his career as a mechanic with Tragesser Concrete in Tipton.  Back in the day he attended Sharpsville Schools.  He was an avid car enthusiast, owning and showing his 1931 Plymouth, 1955 Studebaker and his 1948 Indian motorcycle.  He spent numerous hours attending car shows and swap meets everywhere.  “Hemi Dan” as he was known really enjoyed his drives throughout Indiana to take in the scenery and looking for hawks and the best tenderloin he could find.  His family was able to share in his mushroom hunting successes, enjoying his finds.

Dan served in the US Army during the Vietnam era in Germany.

Survivors include his wife Rosemary, children Rachel Sprinkle, Jennifer Sprinkle and Emily Luckey.  Siblings include John Earl Sprinkle in Florida, and Oliver Sprinkle and wife Pam in Kokomo.

He lovingly raised two grandchildren, Addison and Stella Sprinkle and is also survived by his other grandchildren Samara Beason, Owen Sonnier, Chance Luckey, Annie and Asher and his step-grandchildren Julian, Georgie and Helena Epp.

He was preceded in death by a step son, Erin Epp and sisters Clara Mae Brough, Carolyn Anthony and Trudy Jones.

A memorial service for Dan will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home lead by his family. Visitation will be from 10:00 until the time of the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be left on his obituary page at www.young-nichols.com.
