Darrell E. Shupperd, 68, of Tipton, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 1, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Born on September 11, 1957, in Kokomo, Indiana Darrell was the son of Charles and Denzil (Reynolds) Shupperd. He attended school in Tipton. He was a skilled carpenter and quite the handyman.
On August 5, 1989, Darrell married the love of his life, Linda Herndon, beginning a devoted 36-year partnership filled with shared joys and steadfast support.
Darrell found happiness in life's simple pleasures: casting a line while fishing, following the thrill of racing, cruising around town in his golf cart, and spending hours tinkering with cars in his garage. Above all else, however, nothing mattered more to him than time spent with his family, especially the delight he took in his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his four children, Jason Shupperd of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Ashlee Angell (Dustin) of Tipton, Cody Shupperd of Tipton, and Kinlie Shupperd; his sister, Linda Shupperd of Arcadia; and his cherished grandchildren, Abby Shupperd, Brodie Shupperd, Jeremy Shupperd Jr., Delilah Shupperd, Bentley Angell, Levi Angell, Ryker Angell, Paisleigh Angell, Chase Shupperd, and Shilo Shupperd. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss his warmth.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeremy Shupperd and his siblings, Joe Reynolds, Jerry Shupperd, and Virginia Wallace.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 4 at 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral will start at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Fairview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made out to the Little Free Pantry, a charity started by Linda and Darrell that was dear to both and touched countless lives. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Suburban Health hospice services for the care provided Darrell.
