David Ellison

David Vaughn Ellison 83 of Tipton died on Tuesday, March 23, 2026 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on July 22, 1942 to Wilbur and Thelma (Bootman) Ellison. He married Ima D. Dailey on November 10, 1979 and enjoyed nearly 30 years of marriage until her death on January 5, 2009.

David worked at Callahan Seeds and then for Beck’s Hybrid. He was a 1960 graduate of Stewartsville High School and was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and relaxing at his fishing hole.

Survivors include his children: Tamera Clark of St. Joseph, MO, Cynthia Embrey and husband Donnie of Elwood, KS, Nicki Puckett of Denver, CO, David L. Ellison and Alfred “Pete” McAdams and wife Jackie of Elwood, IN. His eleven grandchildren include: Roy Miller, Rachel Puckett, Jessica Gelinas, David V. Ellison, Abigail Clark-Helms, Harlowe Droghei, Cade Droghei, Chase Ellison, Justin McAdams, Zachary McAdams and Coty Sovern. David has a sister, Eva Gann in Stewartsville, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Earl and Ronald Ellison.
