Edward Roscoe Ogden

Edward Roscoe Ogden, age 83, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away on May 21, 2025, at IU Health Tipton Hospital. He was born on November 25, 1941 in Tipton to Charles & Elsie (Kendall) Ogden. On December 3, 1962 he married Jerliene Jackson and she preceded him in death in September of 2006.

Roscoe, as he was affectionately known to family and friends, proudly served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1961. He lived most of his life in Tipton County, except for the four years he lived in Kokomo. Throughout his career, he was dedicated to restoring and repairing classic and everyday vehicles. He began his professional journey at Ross & Doggett Body Shop, where he worked for 32 years before continuing his craft at Hankins Body Shop for an additional 10 years, retiring in 2003. Outside of work, Roscoe enjoyed driving fast and relaxing watching a good western on TV. Roscoe always had a soft spot for many pets; he especially enjoyed his dogs after his retirement.

He is survived by his daughter, Carla (Ogden) Black of Tipton; four grandchildren: Skyler Blackburn of Chicago, Rance Yundt of California, Cheri Coonce of Tipton, and Cayne Blackburn of Ocala, Florida. Roscoe was one of eight siblings and is survived by his brothers, James Ogden and wife Barbara of Kokomo, Mark Ogden of Kokomo, and his sisters, Marlene Fleenor of Elwood, and Janice Salyers and husband Billy of Kokomo. In addition to his wife Jerliene, he was preceded in death by siblings, Lester Ogden, Glen Ogden, and Celeste Ogden; a sister-in-law, Lois Ogden, and a brother-in-law, Mike Fleenor.
