Garry Ryan

Garry E. Ryan 81 of Tipton died Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his residence.  He was born in Elwood on August 8, 1942 to Glen and Georgia Marie (Hoover) Ryan.  Garry married Mickey Pickett on July 5, 1964.  She survives.

Garry was a hard worker.  He always kept busy doing many different jobs, but found his niche being a truck driver.  He enjoyed being on the road and making an impact.  Garry was involved with the Tipton County Thrashing Club.  He had great enthusiasm working with tractors, especially Massey Harris brands.  He spent many hours restoring and tinkering with the antiques.  He was a member of the Rock Prairie Church.  Garry would often be found enjoying several sports games.  He was Pacer fan and didn’t miss watching the Colts play on Sunday.  His local Blue Devils entertained Garry many evenings and the Purdue athletics were also a favorite.

Garry is survived by his wife Mickey and a son-in-law Scott Ison, grandchildren Brandon Ryan, Shelby Ison and Shaylee Ison.  Great Grandchildren include Delilah and Mariana.  He has several nieces and nephews.  Garry was preceded in death by his children Richard Ryan and LaRonda Ison, siblings Jerry Ryan and Judith Baird.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 31 at Rock Prairie Church at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jerry Markins presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. also at Rock Prairie Church.
