Henrietta L. Day, 86 of Tipton died at 7:25 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor. She was born February 23, 1928 in Terre Haute to John Henry & Philomenia Gertrude (Bockhold) Hellmann. On November 16, 1948 she married Murl Day and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2013.

Henrietta was a homemaker and a Bank Loan Clerk and had worked at Citizens National Bank. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society and the St. Joseph Center Bible Study.

Henrietta was a patron of the Tipton County Public Library and was a wonderful seamstress. She loved classical music, ballet and opera. Henrietta enjoyed working in the yard and with her flowers and she loved to oil paint.

Henrietta is survived by her nine children, Helen (Day) Baltic and husband Tony, Ft. Collins, Colorado, Anita (Day) Carter, Troy, Michigan, Mary Ann (Day) Losey and husband David, Sellersburg, Indiana, Charles Day and wife Theresa, Mineral, Virginia, Fr. Martin Day, Terre Haute, Carolyn (Day) Zenoni and husband Robert, Cedarburg, Wisconsin, Margaret (Day) Patterson, West Lafayette, Barbara (Day) Davis and husband Michael, Greenwood, and Dennis Day and wife Valerie, Lorton, Virginia. Henrietta is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Patty Parr and husband Mo of Michigan City, IN, Mary Joan Koors and husband Paul of LaGrange, two brothers Leo Hellman and wife JoAnn of Brownsburg and Gilbert Hellmann and wife Ella of Kokomo. She was preceded in death by 10 siblings.

Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fathers Christopher Shocklee, Martin Day, David Hellmann and Wayne Hellmann presiding. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 24, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Wake and Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
