James F. “Jim” Leffler, 86, of Tipton, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at IU Health Methodist in Indianapolis. Born on February 18, 1939, in Florence, Wisconsin, he was the son of Francis and Jane (Swanson) Leffler. On August 28, 1970, he married Judith Shepard, who survives him.
After losing his father at a young age of 10, Jim was raised by his mother Jane. Jim had a distinguished career, serving as a supervisor at Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo for 30 years and as a salesman for Rainbow Vacuum, ultimately retiring in 2001. He dedicated several years of service to the Tipton County Council, and was a devoted member of Heartland Ministries for over 25 years. A passionate Green Bay Packers fan, Jim was proud of his family and cherished the time spent together, especially with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith Leffler of Tipton; children Chris Leffler, Michelle Leffler, Scott Leffler and wife Cheri, and Matthew Leffler and wife Alissa. Jim is also remembered by his brother, Fredrick Leffler and wife Karen along with his cherished grandchildren, Noah, Curtis Jr., Carter, Schylar, Taylar, Luke, and Kirby.
Jim was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Leffler as well as his siblings, Joan Gaster, Patrick Leffler and Jeanette Fretschel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, presided by Rev. Bill Salsbery presiding. Burial will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
