Jean A. GunningJean A. Gunning, 88 of Tipton died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton.  She was born September 30, 1924 in Tipton to Clyde R. & Goldie Marie (Juday) Washington.  On February 14, 1943 she married James Thomas Gunning and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1995.She was a secretary at Tipton Community School Corporation and Tipton Middle School, retiring in 1985.  Jean was a member of Hobbs United Methodist Church and the Lively Ladies at the church.She is survived by two children, Arlene Powell and husband Bob, Tipton, Thomas Gunning and wife Anita, Elwood; four grandchildren, Andrea Wilson, Jason Gunning, Beckie Hoffman and husband Jeff, Carrie Boyer and husband Tom; six great-grandchildren, Mindy, Brook, and Brandon Boyer, Lilly Wilson, Alan and Jake Hoffman.Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb 9, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Roloff presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
