Jerry J. Mundell, 84 of Windfall was born in Kokomo on July 8, 1942. His parents were Owen & Mildred (Foreman) Mundell. He married Marlene Sue Roler on May 17, 1966 and after 60 years of marriage, Jerry passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. He graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1961.
Jerry worked at Chrysler in Kokomo at the Transmission Assembly Plant for 30 years. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. Jerry was a member of Rock Prairie Church and had spent time coaching Little League. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working and made many birdhouses over the years. Outdoor time meant fishing, camping, bird watching and searching for arrowheads and mushrooms. Jerry enjoyed word find puzzles and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Harley.
Survivors include his wife Marlene and his two children, Sharon Kelly and husband Jim of Greenfield and Brian Mundell and wife Kelly of Windfall. He is also survived by one sister, Judy Flick of Kokomo; two grandchildren, Alex Mundell and Cori Mundell as well as one great-grandchild. He will be missed greatly by his best friend, Harold Tolle. Jerry was preceded in death by his siblings, Maxine Conner, Max Mundell, Donald Mundell, Richard Mundell and Ricky Mundell.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Revs. Logan Sparling, Mike Nafziger and Jerry Markins presiding. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall, with military honors from the US Army and the Tipton American Legion. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
