Joanne Cardwell

Joanne M. CardwellJoanne M. Cardwell, 77, Atlanta, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at Regency Place in Indianapolis.  She was born in Noblesville on June 3, 1931 to Shirley E. and Violace L. (Stern) Whisman.  She married Everett F. Cardwell on June 27, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1990.Joanne grew up outside Cicero and later farmed south of Tipton.  She was a bookkeeper and a member of Cicero Christian Church.She is survived by two sisters, Carolyn J. Knapp, Cicero and Linda L. Ary, Athens, Illinois; two grandchildren, Karen Lee Heffelmire and husband Ben, and Michael S. Cardwell and wife Michelle; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one daughter-in-law, Lana Cardwell of Atlanta..  She was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Lee Cardwell, a twin sister, Jeanne M. Endicott and a brother, Robert K. Whisman.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 4  at the Cicero Christian Church in Cicero with Rev. Tim Lueking presiding.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton.  Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.Memorial donations may be made to the Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike, Cicero, Indiana, 46034.
