Linda D. Piel

Linda Darnell Piel, 62 of Sharpsville died at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton. She was born August 31, 1951 in Tipton to Dave & Alyne (Rich) Reecer. On June 10, 1972 she married Gene R. Piel and he survives.

Linda worked at Marsh Supermarket for 20 years, retiring in 1999. She was a 1969 graduate of Tipton High School.

Survivors besides her husband include two sons, Brad W. Piel and wife Wendi, Peru, and Derek A. Piel and fiancée Crystal Shumate, Micanopy, Florida; two grandchildren, Audrey N. Piel and Avery R. Piel; her father, Dave Reecer, Nashville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, David Reecer.

Graveside services for Linda will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5 at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton, with Rev. Jeff Sumner presiding and burial to follow. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at Young-Nichols Funeral Home.
