Lisa Ann Keown, 53 of Sharpsville died Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Community Howard Hospital in Kokomo. She was born on September 11, 1973 and raised in Muncie, Indiana. Her parents were Larry and Shirley (Beeler) Badders. She married James E. Keown on July 5, 2000.
Lisa was a 1992 graduate of Wes-Del High School where she played several sports. In fact, since there were no girls softball teams in Indiana schools, Lisa tried out, was accepted, and became the first girl to play on a boy’s baseball team.
She was a devoted mother, staying home to raise her children and be a presence in their lives. She was very active with all the activities her children participated in. She was the drive behind the scene helping many Tri-Central teams with fund raising and needed parental help.
If you knew Lisa, you would say that she was very personable, outgoing and vivacious. She never knew a stranger and enjoyed meeting and visiting with everyone. Her ability to brighten the room was most apparent. Things were certainly better when Lisa was around.
She is survived by her husband James; children Cheyanne, Cierra, Bradley, Amanda and Ashley Keown and her father Larry Badders. Her siblings include Eric Paul, Regina Bailey, Rhonda Paul Fitzgerald and Kevin Badders.
Lisa was preceded in death by her son Chad Keown and her mother Shirley Badders.
Funeral services will be on Friday, October 16 at 1:00 p,m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Rinehart presiding. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Eaton, Indiana.
