Lori A. (Bontrager) Tragesser, 48 of Tipton died at 12:14 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 13, 1970 in Indianapolis to Uriah & Reenie (Maple) Bontrager. On April 29, 1995 she married Ben Tragesser.
She is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton. Lori graduated from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, class of 1989 and was a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington. She was formerly the Community Development Officer at the Tipton County Foundation where she was instrumental in developing the Women’s Fund, Mobile Food Pantry and Backpack Blessings.
Lori was the Tipton High School Boys Soccer Booster President and a Samaritan Heart recipient. She was a Living Beyond Breast Cancer mentor and a support person for patients recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Lori also has a blog at www.yourstrulylori.com sharing her story and journey with breast cancer. She enjoyed traveling. Lori loved her family and kids very much.
She is survived by her husband, Ben, Tipton; five children, Jake Tragesser, Luke Tragesser, Levi Tragesser, David Tragesser and Lydia Tragesser; her parents of Indianapolis and one brother, Scott Bontrager and wife LaKesha of Fishers.
A funeral mass for Lori will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville with Fr. Christopher Shocklee presiding. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Tipton at a later date. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the mass. Young-Nichols Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial donations in Lori’s honor may be made to Encompass Credit Union, 201 N. Main Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072 for either a fund to help with her children’s education or for breast cancer research being conducted by Dr. Kathy Miller.
