Lowell W. RushLowell W. Rush, 83 of Windfall died at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday,
April 13, 2016 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born
on December 2, 1932 in Windfall to L. Wayne & Eva Lenor (Burns)
Rush. On September 30, 1955 he married Rachel Johnson and she
survives.A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Lowell
retired from Chrysler in December 1994 after over 30 years of
service. He was a member of UAW Local 685 and was also a
retired auctioneer. He served in the US Army Medical Corps
from 1952 - 1954 and saw service in the Korean Conflict.Lowell was a member of the Windfall Christian Church and an Elder
Emeritus, Austin Masonic Lodge #128 of Tipton where he was a past
Worshipful Master and the American Legion in Windfall. He was
a life member of both the NRA and the National Muzzle Loaders Rifle
Association and had competed on its rifle team nationally. He
belonged to the Elwood Conservation Club, the Windfall and Tipton
Lions Clubs and the Hoosier Auto Racing Club.Survivors besides his wife Rachel include four children, Arlene K.
Buell and husband Ronald, Kokomo, Carolann Shadday and husband Phil,
Tipton, Elaine Phelps and Roland Whisler, Tipton and Brian L. Rush
and wife DeeDee, Windfall; four grandchildren, Andy Phelps and Julie
Ross, Austin Tan and husband Jeff, Jerret Shadday and wife Kali and
Jennifer Rayle and husband James.Lowell is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Oliver Tan,
Kenzie Shadday, Gavin Shadday, Cole Rayle, Madi, Rachel and Carly
Ripberger; one sister, Sarah May Rush.Lowell was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell Rush and Dale
Rush and one sister, Barbrah Larr.Funeral services for Lowell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday,
April 18 at the Windfall Christian Church with Rev. Carl Roudebush
presiding. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall
with military honors. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
on Sunday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Monday at the church. A Masonic Service will be held at 5:00
