Marta R. Ireland

Marta R. Ireland, 72 of Fishers, and a former Tipton and Plainfield resident, died at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at IU Health Saxony Hospital in Fishers. She was born August 16, 1939 in Indianapolis to Oscar & Capitolia (Winscott) McDaniel. On March 8, 1958 she married Robert Ireland and he survives.

Marta had worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis for 20 years. She enjoyed several types of arts and crafts and sewing. She spent a lot of time cooking, gardening and tending to her flowers. Marta had also volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother.

Survivors besides her husband Robert include one son, Brian Ireland and wife Michelle, Noblesville; four grandchildren, Latosha, Brandi, Mara Jade and Dakota Ireland; one brother, Ted McDaniel and wife Ethel, Indianapolis.

No services are planned. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
