Mary M. Vandevender

Mary Margaret Vandevender, 90, of Fayetteville, North Carolina and formerly of Tipton County, died at 2:34 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Fayetteville. She was born July 5, 1921 in Kokomo to Dale Lowell & Iva E. (Christy) Mott. On May 20, 1939 she married Wyatt C. Vandevender and he preceded her in death on August 16, 1990.

Margaret was a farmer and had attended Normanda Christian Church in Tipton County and Trinity Christian Church in Fayetteville. She was also a member of the Home Ec club in Tipton County.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Curtis Vandevender, Fayetteville; one daughter, Carol Ann Teter, Elkhart, Indiana; three grandchildren, Doug & Chad Teter, Heath Curtis Vandevender; seven great-grandchildren, Sydney, Aubrey, Allayhe & Walker Vandevender and Matthew, Deacon and Zachary Teter. One sister, Dorothy Orr is deceased.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16 at Tetersburg Cemetery with burial to follow. There will be no visitation. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
