Maxine E. Gaugler, 94 of Tipton died on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Tipton on March 25, 1925 to William & Zella (Wynn) Prifogle and had lived in Tipton her entire life. Maxine had married Elbert G. Gaugler on October 28, 1951 and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2003.
Maxine was a homemaker and full-time mother. She was a graduate of Tipton High School and was a member of Kemp United Methodist Church in Tipton.
Survivors include two daughters, Marsha Oberrieder and husband John, Vernon Hills, Illinois and Kristi Keeker and husband Jim, Cicero; two sisters, Charlene Henry, Tipton and Mary Morrill, South Carolina; one brother, Lester Prifogle, Greenwood and one granddaughter, Christina Oberrieder. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald “Pete” Prifogle.
Funeral services for Maxine will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18 at the Kemp United Methodist Church with Pastor Gary Eberhart presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
