Michael D. Mullins, 69 of Windfall and of Rogersville, Tennessee died at 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Harbour Manor Health and Living in Noblesville. He was born in Anderson, Indiana on August 24, 1948 to Bernard W. & Donna (Washam) Mullins. He married Phyllis Davis on August 29, 1970 and she survives.

Mike retired from Chrysler in 2008 and was an author, writing six books. He was a member of the Windfall United Methodist Church, a Past President and member of the Windfall Lions Club, Past Commander and Past Financial Officer of Windfall American Legion Post, and belonged to the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and AmVets. Mike was Past Vice President and member of the Board of the Military Writers Association of America and a member of Howard County Vietnam Veterans. He served on the Tri-Central School Board for 17 years. Mike was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army, 199th Light Infantry Brigade, receiving the Purple Heart Medal.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two sons, Michael Shane Mullins, CSM (Ret.) and wife Tina, Greenwood, Joel Mullins and wife Olivia, Peru; a brother, Jim Mullins, PhD and wife Karla, Sharpsville; a sister, Andrea Roberts and husband Danny, Murfreesboro, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Kellen, Evanne, Rylan, Brennan, Makenna, and Adalyn Mullins and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton with Pastor Dennis Lafferty presiding. Military Honors will be rendered at the funeral home.  Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. After cremation, burial will follow at a later date.
