Paul E. Craig, 92 of Tipton died at 6:55 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Fredericktown, Missouri on December 28, 1925 to Monroe and Barbara A. (Beutto) Craig. He married Imogene Bridges on December 13, 1946, she survives.
Paul was a surveyor, retiring from Alfred Benesch Consulting and Engineering in Chicago. He worked on atomic energy plants, the Skyway, the Standard Building and the toll road to name a few of his surveying accomplishments. Paul served in the Navy in WWII having the opportunity to witness the signing of the surrender in Tokyo Bay. He was a member of the American Legion. Paul dearly loved working on genealogy and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Imogene; grandchildren include James & Carrie Coffman, Glenn & Kim Coffman, Andrew Coffman, Belinda & Jimmy Smith, Paul & Djene Coffman, Daniel & Brandi Coffman, Mary & David Williams, and Leah & Justin Whaling. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Barbara Jean Craig Coffman and Lawrence Harold Coffman Jr.; three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Eberhart presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time.
