Peggy D. Leap

Peggy D. Leap, age 76, of Tipton, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Born on March 19, 1950, in Noblesville, Peggy was the cherished daughter of Harold and Elsie (Zeigler) Leap.

She graduated from Hamilton Heights High School, class of 1968. Peggy embarked on a diverse career in insurance, contributing her skills to Meridian Insurance and Conseco. She also held positions at Lazarus and Macy’s before joining Positive Results in Tipton, ultimately retiring from Bona Vista in Kokomo.

Peggy was a dedicated member of the West Street Christian Church. She found joy in crafting, knitting, and cross stitch. A devoted Indianapolis Colts fan, Peggy held season tickets for several years, enjoying her involvement with the Blue Ladies and the opportunity to meet team players and Jim Irsay. She also was an avid NASCAR fan.

Family was the cornerstone of Peggy's life. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, celebrating their achievements and enthusiastically supporting them at every sporting event she could attend.

Peggy is survived by her son, Jeffrey A. Leap and his wife, Kristi (Hardebeck) of Tipton, her sister, Sharon Knapp and husband John of Arcadia, and her grandchildren, Nathan and Courtney Leap, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Mike Goodnight.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, with Pastor J.R. Moffat presiding and burial to follow at Cicero Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects during the visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 until the time of the service.
