Phillip Joe Tidler, 85, of Tipton, and formerly of Rotonda West, Florida, died peacefully in his sleep at The Waters of Tipton on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was born on November 13, 1939, in Tipton to Charles and Ruth (Lewis) Tidler.
Joe graduated from Tipton High school in 1958. He married Sue Carter Tidler on Oct 19, 1963, at Kempton Christian Church in Kempton. They were together until Sue passed in 2019. Joe served in the US Navy from 1958-1961. He worked for Delco Remy until 1985. Joe enjoyed being outside, loved fishing but his real passion was archery.
Surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Carri and Christian Randler of Whiteland and Lori and Nick Hugley of Westfield; nine grandchildren, Carter Burton, Spenser Burton, Chrystal Randler, Nancy Bittner, Haydon (and Charity) Buck, Nicki (and Fredy) Rodriguez, Jordan Tidler, Caleb (and Madyson) McLin and Kayla McLin; five great-grand-grandchildren, Alexis Bittner, Zachary Bittner, Ryan Bittner, Bodhi Buck and Ellie McLin; two brothers Garry (and Sharon) Tidler, Dick (and Marilyn) Tidler; and one sister Evelyn (and Bedford Jr) Johnson.
Along with his wife and his parents Joe was preceded in death by a son Travis Tidler; sisters Cheri Mahaney, Emma Hartley, Margaret Long and Donna Epps; and brothers Bill Sr Tidler and David Tidler.
Visitation is from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2 with a service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. The U.S. Navy and the Tipton American Legion will provide military honors at the funeral home at the start of the service.
