Roberta Roe

Roberta Roe, 78 of Elwood, and formerly of Tipton, died at 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her daughter’s home surrounded by family.  She was born on December 9, 1939 in Atlanta to Vernon Leroy & Mary Esta (Crull) Shepard.  She was married to Phillip A. Roe and he survives.

Roberta worked in several factories throughout her life including RCA, J. Lewis Small and Package Right, retiring in 2002.  She was a member of the Church of God in Tipton and enjoyed reading, sewing, playing Bingo and caring for animals.  She most enjoyed spending time with her three daughters.

Survivors besides her husband include three daughters, Debra LaVaun Cornwell, Elwood, Terri Lynn Jones and husband Larry, Atlanta and Carol Ann Dautrich and husband Jeff, Elwood; two brothers, Charles Shepard and wife Jean, Elwood and Arnold Shepard and wife Diane of Frankton.  Roberta is also survived by one granddaughter, Shannan Dailey and three great-grandchildren, Dakin McCormick, Kaleb McCormick and Nataley McCormick.

Roberta was preceded in death five brothers, Dwight Shepard, Harold Shepard, Rolland Shepard, Thomas Shepard and David Shepard; three sisters, Mary McClure, Carolyn Coffey and her twin, Roseta LaVaun Shepard who died when she was 6 months old.

Funeral services for Roberta will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Morrisett presiding.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton.  Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service on Wednesday.
