Sandra Scott Longdo

Sandra Scott Longdo, 85, of Tipton, IN, formerly of Ottumwa, died July 21, 2026, at IU Health Tipton Hospital.

She was born August 12, 1940, in Lancaster, MO to Harold E. and Doris McElhinney Aeschliman. She married Paul Scott November 22, 1959, and he preceded her in death August 21, 1991. She married David Michael Longdo June 8, 1995, and he preceded her in death March 9, 2018.

A 1958 graduate of Lancaster High School, Sandra had been a secretary for John Deere Ottumwa Works, American Red Cross, United Way of Wapello County and for the Ottumwa School District. She was the manager of Bonds Christian Book Store and worked 11 years for the Department of Human Services, retiring in 1992.

Sandra had attended Wesley United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a Parrish Visitor. She was an avid reader of history.

Surviving is her daughter, Tamara (Guy) Coolbaugh of Tipton, IN and son, Randy Scott of Mission, KS; step-daughters, Erin Longdo of Walnut Creek, CA and Shannan Cowan of Ottumwa; step-son, Steven Longdo of Des Mones; 5 grandchildren, David (Jocelyn) Marty, Tyler (Kourtney) Marty, Jacob (Cathleen) Hein, Nathan (Lauren) Hein and Devon (Natasha) Scott; 3 step-grandchildren, Dakota Boyer, Kassidy Cowan and Phoenix Fort; 11 great grandchildren; and a brother, David (Barbara) Aeschliman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harold Donald Aeschliman and daughter-in-law, Cathi Marty-Scott.

Sandra will return to Ottumwa for her funeral services. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Longdo family in Indiana during their time of need. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 27 at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Mel Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service on Monday.
