Walter Roy “Bud” Johnson, 95 of Tipton died peacefully Monday morning October 13, 2025 at the Waters of Tipton. He was born in Hancock County, Tennessee on May 21, 1930 to Lon and Martha (Fletcher) Johnson. He married Beulah T. (Brooks) on May 31, 1955 spending a blessed 70 years in matrimony; she survives.
Bud was a hard worker, spending over 25 years as a welder and fabricator at FMC Corporation in Tipton. He had a great skill in working with his hands and it showed as he produced many wood items from his shop. His love of his family was apparent and it continued to grow as he recently welcomed two new great-grandchildren. Bud had a deep devotion to his Lord and the church. After 95 years he went home to be with the Lord after serving a multitude of years as a deacon for his church. He and his wife also sang in a quartet that ministered to several homecoming events at local churches fueling his love for music. Bud also enjoyed cheering on the Indianapolis Colts during the football season.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah, son Roy Michael Johnson and wife Robin of Greenfield, and a sister, Coleen Brooks and husband Herb of Michigan. Grandchildren include Holly Allman and husband Gil Graham, Dana Delap and husband Charlie and Kevin Johnson and wife Danielle. His great grandchildren are Everett Graham, Emery Delap, Emerson Delap, Ellie Delap and Harper Johnson. He also has many nieces and nephews who were special to him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18 at the Beech Grove Baptist Church in Tipton. Revs. Adam Rinehart, Mike Seabolt, Donnie Mustard and Jimmy Hunt will preside. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service.
Bud’s family would like to give a special “Thank You” to a special family friend, Debbie Bennington for all of her care and support and to The Waters of Tipton and Kelli, Adam and Alyssa from Guardian Angel Hospice for the excellent care he received.
