William Michael “Bill” Boyle, aged 74, of Meridianville, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 27, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, to Edwin and Marguerite (Schwerin) Boyle.
Bill grew up in Antioch, California, where he graduated from Antioch High School. After completing his secondary education, he did his collegiate studies at San Jose State University obtaining a degree in Aeronautical Operations. Bill’s career began at NASA, and continued to Lockheed/Martin, where he retired from in 2000.
Bill was called to the ministry in early 1999. He and his family planted a church in Concordia, Kansas where he was the Senior Pastor from 2000-2006. During this time he was also the owner and operator of the local KFC. In 2006 Bill sold the business and moved to Texas going to work at MEI Engineering where he worked until 2012 at which time he joined the Missile Defense Agency division of the U.S. Government which he retired from in 2021.
Bill loved God, family, trains, space, baseball, his dogs and British MG cars. He loved to fly airplanes and for 2-3 years during his college years had his pilot’s licenses and flew locally in the San Jose area.
Bill is survived by his wife, Cindy (Osborn) Boyle, two children, Rebekah Devore (James) and David Boyle, all of Meridianville, Alabama; a sister, Ann Bowen of Pomona, Missouri and is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Boyle.
The legacy Bill leaves is enriched by his knowledge of many subjects, teaching of the Bible and the lives he has touched. His family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor, love and Godly Spirit.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with visitation from 11:00 until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
