William D. “Dean” Hillock

William D. “Dean” Hillock, 68 of Sheridan died at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.  He was born on April 29, 1949 in Lebanon, Indiana to William “Bill” Charles & Miriam Jane (Haughey) Hillock.  On April 19, 1969 he married Vickey Lynn Nicholson and she survives.

Dean was a Machinist for 30 years at Delphi in Kokomo before retiring.  He was also a member of U.A.W. Local 292 in Kokomo.  Dean enjoyed woodworking in his shop at home.  He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed antique tractors, and driving his golf cart around town.  Dean also loved and attended several auctions.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vickey; a son, William Brett Hillock and Marcia Montgomery, Lebanon, Indiana; a daughter, Megan L. Burtron and husband Bradley Thomas Burtron, Kempton; two sisters, Dian McKinley and husband Leroy, Carmel, Doreen Hillock, Sheridan; six grandchildren, Grace Hillock, Morgan Hillock, Josie Hillock, Miriam Hillock, Aliyah Culley, and Dylan Hylton-Hillock; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Lynn Myers.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Hillock and a granddaughter, Avery Reese Burtron.

Dean’s funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, at the Boxley Methodist Church, 26121 Six Points Road in Boxley with Pastor Mike Bullick presiding.  Visitation will also be Saturday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the church.  Burial will follow in Crown View Cemetery, Sheridan.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, is in charge of the arrangements.
