Carolfae Weismiller, 70 of Kempton passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Carolfae was born on August 15, 1952 in Shields Township of Lake County, Illinois to Samuel George & Dorothy Glenn (Clark) Olsen. She is survived by her partner Frank Gervais who she deeply loved and had spent several years together with him.

Carolfae chose the caring career of nursing. She was a registered nurse and had worked at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton for over 20 years. More recently she had worked in the medical/surgery in-patient area at Riverview Hospital and she ended her career as a travel nurse doing in-home care.

She was a graduate of the IU School of Nursing. Carolfae loved to crochet. She made blankets for many in her family over the years and especially for new babies. She was a big dog lover but she most enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Samantha Hodgin and husband Tim of Tipton, Terry L. Netherton, Jr, and wife Crystal of Tipton, Amber Kinsey and husband Jeff of Starkville, Mississippi; one sister, Candy Olsen and husband Rod of Kokomo; grandchildren, Kathleen Wellington, Todd Hodgin, Madison Depew and husband Josh, Preston Emmons and wife Cara, Terry Netherton III, Savannah Emmons-Berghoff and wife Andrea; great-grandchildren, Raylee Depew, Asher Depew, Zander Emmons, Kade Emmons, Skyler Wellington, Nova Netherton, and Atreus Netherton. Carolfae is also survived by her dog children, Marshal and Bella; dog grandchildren, Diesel and Hank. Carolfae was preceded in death by one sister, Cheryl Olsen.

Following Carolfae’s wishes she will be cremated and laid to rest with her parents with a private family memorial service at Fairview Cemetery. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the Weismiller family with Carolfae’s arrangements.

  3. My friend is at peace while we will miss her earthly presence. We will always remember her laugh, her honesty , her loyalty to family and friends. Her sense of humor and love of fun but care and compassion for her patients was a joy to be around. Sending hugs and wishing you peace and comfort during this transition without her daily presence.
