Maryellyn “Lynn” (Symons) Kincaid

Maryellyn “Lynn” (Symons) Kincaid, 86 of Hartford City and formerly of Tipton, Indianapolis and New Castle died at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Hartford City. She was born July 5, 1925 in Hancock County, Indiana to George & Martha (McLellan) Symons.

Lynn was a registered nurse and had worked for the Visiting Nurse Association of Elwood for several years. She was a member of the West Street Christian Church in Tipton, a past elder, past chairman of the board and past chair of a search committee. Lynn graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School and the IU School of Nursing.

She is survived by four children, Cynthia Kincaid, Falls Church, Virginia, Keith Kincaid and wife Sandy, Hartford City, Suzanne Helmick and husband Patrick, Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Barbara Kincaid, Falls Church, Virginia; three grandchildren, Dana Kincaid, Taryn Kincaid and Whitney Kincaid. She was preceded in death by one brother, William T. Symons.

A memorial service for Lynn will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 at the West Street Christian Church, 132 N. West Street, Tipton, with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the West Street Christian Church.
