Allie Burnette
Allie (Green) Burnette, 95 of Tipton died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton. She was born in Moss, Tennessee on January 23, 1924 to George Washington and Mealia (McLerran) Green. She married Elmo Burnette in Tompkinsville, Kentucky on May 29, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1975.
Allie had retired in 1989 from Delco in Kokomo. She attended Alto Road Church of Christ in Kokomo. Allie enjoyed sewing and crochet needle working. She especially was fond of spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Making Saturday breakfast for the family was always memorable.
Allie is survived by her children, Janet Brannum and husband Ralph of Kempton, Ronnie Burnette and his wife Debby of Tipton, and a son-in-law Jim Duncan of Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Angie (Dave) Harris, Dalena Bradley, Ric (Michelle) Burnette, Shannon (Adam) Rinehart and Jason (Kristin) Burnette; 12 great-grandchildren, Autumn Billings (Trent Jacobs), Michael Billings, Samantha Billings, Kaitlyn Brannum, Jared Bradley, Eric Bradley, Kory Burnette, Madison Burnette, Clay Burnette, Avery Burnette, Sydney Burnette and Austin Burnette; one great-great-grandson, Case Bradley.
Allie was preceded in death by siblings, Otto Green, Willard Green, Bethel Green, Dora Rich, Ava Rich, Roxie Gipson, Lula Strong; one son, Rick Burnette and a daughter Sherry Duncan; one grandson, Ralph Anthony Brannum.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 11 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Markins presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
