Andrew “AJ” Stewart, 39 of Sharpsville died at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Frankfort on May 12, 1977 to Gary & Beverly (McFarland) Stewart.  He had previously lived in Lexington and Kirklin before moving to Sharpsville.  On August 7, 2004 AJ married Sondra Woods and she survives.

AJ was a Senior Research Associate for DuPont Pioneer working in their Windfall station.  He was a member of Hills Baptist Church where he had served as Head Deacon.  AJ was a Past Grand Master of Pickard Lodge #690.  He was a 1995 graduate of Frankfort High School, received his BS in Agronomy from Purdue University in 1999 and his Master’s from the University of Illinois in 2003.

Survivors besides his wife Sondra include two daughters, Lillian and Isabella at home; his parents Gary & Beverly Stewart, Frankfort; his maternal grandfather, Eugene McFarland and his wife Patty of rural Tipton County; one sister, Courtney Fredenburg , her husband Travis and their children Drew and Alex, all of Middletown; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Roger & Nancy Woods, Reynolds; one brother-in-law and his wife John & Amy Woods and their children Ava and Blaine, all of Remington.

The funeral service for AJ will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with Rev. Charles Cole presiding.  Burial will follow in Normanda Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions in AJ’s honor may be made to an education fund for his daughters C/O Wells Fargo Advisors at Isgrigg Financial Strategies, 1309 S. Jackson Street, Frankfort, Indiana, 46041.
