Bill Ziegler, 95 of Tipton died peacefully Tuesday, August 2, 2022. He was born in Noblesville on September 3, 1926 to William David and Julia “Beal” Ziegler Sr. He married Janice Warfel on April 19, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2013.

Bill was an outdoors man. He was a lifetime farmer as he moved to Tipton with his family as a two year old, setting up the family farm. He was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, a founding father of the Mid-America Threshing Association and Antique, Inc. Bill belonged to the Tipton County Tractor Puller Association and attended the Pork Festival every year since the opening and drove his 1952 Oliver 88 in each parade. He supported and gave back to the community as a member of the Madison Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Bill was very outgoing; he loved to go to farm and antique auctions. He was a “gatherer” of unique conversation starters.

Survivors include two children, Lynda Summers and husband Benton of Whitney, Texas and Tony Ziegler and wife Sammy of Tipton. Grandchildren include Lindsay and Andrew Carrier of Argyle, Texas, Erin and Matt Donnell of Keller, Texas and Justin Ziegler of Tipton. Bill had six great-grandchildren, Kassidy Carrier, Mckinley Carrier, Ella, Jacob and Quinn Donnell and Gatlin Ziegler.

Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer, Dick, Charles, and Leonard Ziegler, and Martha Duffy and Alice McCorkle.

A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton with Rev. Dennis Goth presiding. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm. until 7:00 p.m. at St. John’s Church with a Rosary prayer at 4:00.

Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Church building fund, 340 Mill Street Tipton, Indiana, 46072.
