Carley M. Long Braun, 16 of Tipton died on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at her residence.  She was born on November 9, 2001 in Kokomo, the daughter of Tia (Long) Braun of Tipton and Chris Braun of Tipton.

Carley was a member of the Junior Class at Tipton High School and worked as an Aide at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton, a job she dearly loved.  She had attended Bethel Tabernacle Church in Kokomo.  Carley played volleyball and softball when she was a middle school student at Tri-Central Middle School.  She loved to read and really loved her siblings and pets.  Carley was considered a “fashionista”; she loved clothing, dressing up, make-up and jewelry.

Survivors besides her parents include two sisters, Cora Braun and Lucy Braun, both at home; her grandparents Toni & Ron Dunham, Kokomo, John Braun, Tipton, Pam Braun, Cicero, Rick & Marci Whitesell, Tipton and Robin Whitesell, Elwood.  Carley is also survived by her great-grandparents, Williemae & Carlton Long, Windfall; a special cousin, Phil Lunsford and partner Jasper Kroll, Tennessee.  Carley was Phil’s “special girl”.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Luke Braun, a grandfather, Tom Long and great-grandparents Frances & Junior Wilson.

Funeral services for Carley will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 30 at Bethel Tabernacle Church, 661 West 400 South, Kokomo with Pastor Steve Branstutter presiding.  Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.  Young-Nichols Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial donations in Carley’s memory may be made to Miller’s Merry Manor, 300 Fairgrounds Road, Tipton, Indiana, 46072 to assist with activities for the residents.
