Destery J. Moss, 52 of Tipton passed peacefully Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home. He was born on January 5, 1967 in Tompkinsville, Kentucky to Dewey E. and Minnie C. (Dodson) Moss.

Destery was a Turbo Propulsion Jet Mechanic in the U.S. Air Force in the late 1980’s. In his civilian career he worked as a CNC machinist with certifications in x-ray welding inspection. He greatly enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Destery was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and camping activities. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1988.

Survivors include his parents of Tipton, children Destery J. Moss Jr. at home, Kayla Moss and fiancé Cody McKnight of Franklin, Indiana, Brittany York and husband Terry II of Russiaville, Indiana, Daniel Moss and fiancée Kasey Monaghan of Cambridge City, Indiana and Zane May and wife Robin of Columbus, Indiana. Grandchildren are Lukas, Zemira, Margo, Terry III, Hunter, Kallen, Kohen, Cavan, Colt, Novalee, Shailee, and Anthony. Destery has two brothers, Kelley D. Moss and wife Donna of Kokomo and Sean M. Moss of Tipton.

Funeral services for Destery will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Assistant Pastor Jeremy Lord presiding. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will be performed at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donation to be made to Disabled American Veterans, VARO Federal Building, 575 N. Pennsylvania Street, Room 324, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46204.
