Donel L. Lee, 85 of Tipton and formerly of Atlanta, Indiana, died at 3:51 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton. He was born on August 9, 1933 in Ekin, Indiana to Lester & Inez (Crawford) Lee. Donel married Carolyn Dehner on May 20, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 21, 2002.

Donel and Carolyn enjoyed 41 years of marriage together. He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson. He was a 50-year member of the Freemasons, starting at the Masonic Lodge in Atlanta and later transferring to the Tipton Austin Masonic Lodge # 128, when Atlanta merged with Tipton. Donel was a Past Master of the Free Masons. Donel also proudly served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Kincaid, Indianapolis, Cathy Simms and husband Glenn, Tipton, Tamara Harmount and husband Kent, Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren, Dana Villarreal, Taryn Kincaid, Whitney Kincaid, Erin Enright, Elena Tansy, Brent Tansy, Zachary Harmount, Beth Harmount, Kelly Simms, and Andrew Simms and 12 great-grandchildren. Donel was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Mae Daughtery, Annabelle Coverdale; a brother, James Lee; and a son-in-law, Keith Kincaid.

Donel’s visitation will be on Friday, January 25 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 6:00 p.m. The family will hold a private burial at Union Cemetery, Hamilton County at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Tipton Austin Masonic Lodge #128 Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 302, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

    I worked at Autumnwood Village and Don was one of my favorite residents there before he had to go to Millers. He was such a day of sunshine for me everyday. I am very sorry for your loss, he will be greatly missed.
