  10. Condolences to all the family in this time of your loss. Back in the day we rode the same school bus to WHS with Kent and Craig, Sandy / Connie / Bonita Findling, Kay and Donnie Jones, the McKinney kids, Abbey Ericson and the Burkhardt kids, Toby, Fritz and Kathy. Lots of water under the Windfall bridge since those times. God bless!

It seems to me that a fitting way to celebrate Jean’s life, her impact on the Windfall community, and her impact on Tipton County would be to light fireworks and hire a band to play some rousing tunes – and maybe throw a community-wide potluck where we could all join in sharing some of the fun times we had with her. I remember my dad talking about the time he went to get his driver’s license renewed and ran into Jean at the DMV renewing hers. She was 94 years old at the time. Once again, he was impressed by Jean and her tenacity. Another tale I heard not many years ago was that Jean’s mail lady brought her mail up to the front door for Jean rather than leaving it in her mailbox. I was touched by the respect shown to Jean by that act. I wonder, too, if there was a prize for the most Windfall High School Alumni Banquets attended by one person, would Jean have won it? I think probably so. God bless you, Jean, and your family, – forever and ever.

    1. Renda Plummer

Thank you Judy! Jean would be the first to want to attend such an event in Windfall!!! She always had her shoes on and was ready to go!
She was a remarkable lady who lived a wonderful life… her determination to keep busy led her to 103 years of a life well lived…
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your heartfelt thoughts…

In memory of Jean, so many happy times at reunions and visiting with my Grandma Hazel. Loved family gatherings at Minnie and Rome’s home, as a child I though it was a grand house and fun times with family in the basement. Visiting Jean in her home and her gracious offering of homemade chocolate treats with us reminiscing over family photo albums.Even in the later years she remembered my grandchildren’s names and always asked about them. What a grand lady, always loving and kind..
