Jeff Powell, 61 of Tipton died in an accident on Monday, July 10, 2023 while doing what he loved – mowing. He was born on February 1, 1962 in Elwood to Francis E. & Betty J. (Crail) Powell.

Jeff graduated from Tipton High School Class of 1980 where he was very active in the FFA. He worked at Steel Parts for several years. Jeff also was a bus driver for several organizations including Noblesville and Hamilton Heights School Corporations, along with Hamilton County Express. Jeff was a member of Salem Community Church and enjoyed collecting tractors. He truly loved his family and cherished time he was able to spend with them, and especially enjoyed when they were able to go out to eat as a family. He loved to spoil his great-grandson Kooper and great-niece, Amazing Grace “Mazi”.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Bryant of Tipton; two children Brent Louks and wife Tara of Tipton, C. David Louks and wife Sachiko of Maryland; siblings, Steve Powell and wife Karen, William Powell and wife Carol, David Powell, Kevin Powell, and Beth Rippy; eight grandchildren, Kayla Ridener and husband Klint, Brendan Louks and wife Mikayla, Aiden Louks, Natalie Head, Miki Louks, Emi Louks, Kumi Louks, and Cyrus Louks; one great-granddaughter, Hattie Louks. Jeff is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Jordan Rippy and Kody Rippy and his wife Ashley along with several cousins.

Jeff was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Powell and one sister, Dorothy McAdams.

Funeral services for Jeff will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Please visit www.young-nichols.com to leave condolences for Jeff’s family.

Memorial contributions in honor of Jeff may be made to the Tipton High School FFA, 619 S. Main Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.
