Marshall Alton “Al” Brown, 77 of Sharpsville died at 5:59 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.   He was born on November 24, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia to Marshall Alton Brown, Sr. and Dorothy Margaret (Reynolds) Brown.  On September 6, 1968 he married Kathy S. Teter and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2001.

Al was a machinist, retiring from Acraline Products in Tipton in 2005 after 23 years of service.  He was a devout Christian with an unwavering devotion to God and His word.  He shared his faith with everyone he met and had also taught Sunday school.  He was a 1957 graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School in Atlanta, Georgia.  Al enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting, shooting, walking and riding his bike.  He enjoyed metalworking making rings and knives among other things.  He had served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his three daughters, Angie Fenoglio, Westfield, Beth Brown, Frankfort and Shelly Brown, Sharpsville; one sister, Carolyn Seagraves, Raleigh, North Carolina; one grandson, Nathaniel McGrath; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Curly.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Brown.  Always remaining in his heart were Michael and Jeffery.

Al’s funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Ruggles presiding.   Burial will follow in Sharpsville Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers Al requested that memorial contributions be made to either the donor’s place of worship or the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th Street, Suite 100,  Indianapolis, Indiana, 46278 for soft tissue sarcoma research.

Al’s family would like to thank Guardian Angel Hospice for all of their care and support during these last few weeks of his journey.
